By natural, we mean: raw, unrefined, fresh and organic - where possible. We obtain our ingredients from ethical wholesalers and base our formulas on natural oils that have been cold pressed from organically farmed vegetables. They have not been refined and retain all their natural goodness, colours and aromas - so they smell and look lovely but may stain cloth!

We combine these with organic farmed or wild essential oils. These have been steam distilled, except in the case of Rose Absolute which is solvent extracted and our only non-organic ingredient.

We also use organic beeswax, and have started a quest to find an organic beeswax in the UK (see Greenman's blog for more information on the sad story of why UK bees cant be organic - yet!).

Greenman's products are made in small batches in Sussex, UK.

Neither products nor ingredients are tested on animals - instead, the ingredients have been tested by tradition and human use, including by Greenman Bodycare's founder and friends.

Greenman's voice is directed to men and women who realise that their bodies are temples, and that earth and nature, as well as our bodies, need protecting.

Greenman's founder realised from his own experience of skincare products made by industry in the 1980's, that natural vegetable oils were best for his skin. He worked with ethical suppliers and safety assessors  to develop the formula for our first product: the simple and healthy Greenman Shave Oil and Body Oil.

Greenman's natural ingredients have a tradition of use in skin care: nourishing, moisturising, providing protective barriers and antiseptic functions.

Greenman uses small containers when compared with aerosols of shave foam and bottles of aqueous moisturiser.
